Team Training


 

On the 29th of January 2024, a training was organized at the Community Resource Centre, Vatva, Ahmedabad under the ITC project. This training was conducted for the entire team of ITC project at Mehmedabad and Nadiad areas. During the training, each staff member was briefed on their roles and responsibilities, and information was shared about the organization's journey and the community activities conducted over time. Additionally, insights were provided on how to effectively carry out the work in the ITC project over the next three years. The organization and quality management of the work during the upcoming two months of this training program were planned with a focus on how the work efficiency could be carried out in terms of quality and timeliness.

Discussion on matters such as collaboration with stakeholders, mapping and surveying, formation of Self-Help Groups (SHG) with women, and training, as well as development activities related to Panchayats, SMC committees, anganwadis, and community-based village development, is underway. These discussions aim to raise awareness about various initiatives for community development and to facilitate understanding of these activities. The founder of the organization, Mr. Rajendra Joshi, also attended the session, providing an opportunity for the project team to meet and interact with him.

On September 19, 2024, a "Swachhata Hi Seva" campaign focused on a cleanliness drive took place in Village Nani Silod. The event was a collaborative effort involving the Mohalla Committee, village leaders, and students, aiming to create a cleaner and healthier environment. The campaign targeted key areas of the village, including Nani Silod Primary School, the main gate of Nani Silod, Shri Ram Mandir, and the vicinity around the railway gate. During the drive, approximately 15-17 kilograms of waste were collected and disposed of properly in designated community waste bins. The team also engaged local residents, emphasizing the significance of maintaining a clean environment around their homes. They encouraged villagers to adopt regular cleaning practices, fostering a habit of cleanliness in their daily lives. The efforts were led by an SHG (Self-Help Group) member, who played a key role in coordinating the activities and ensuring community participation.

Child Cabinet at Nani Silod village

On the date of 21-03-2024, the Child Cabinet meeting was held at Nani Siloda Primary School. The meeting primarily focused on the functioning of the Children's Parliament. Introductions were made for the members of the Children's Parliament Cabinet, and discussions were held regarding their roles and responsibilities. The discussion included the duties of the Prime Minister and their role and responsibilities, as well as those of the Ministerial Cabinet, such as the Health Minister, and their tasks. Specifically, the responsibilities of the Cleanliness Minister regarding the cleanliness of the school, including inspection of the grounds and monitoring the cleanliness of the school's sections, were highlighted. Following this, the Health Minister addressed the need for first aid provisions in schools. Household Surveys in Nadiad and Mahmedabad Blocks

Team successfully conducted 824 household surveys in the Nadiad and Mahmedabad blocks. These surveys were crucial in gathering comprehensive data on the challenges faced by households in these areas. The results highlighted significant issues, such as a lack of access to potable water, proper sanitation facilities, and functional drainage systems for a majority of the households. Furthermore, the surveys revealed high dropout rates among students and alarmingly low literacy rates among women. These findings point to the urgent need for targeted interventions aimed at improving both living conditions and educational outcomes in these communities. In total, 824 households were directly impacted by this survey.
