Hand Wash Activity, Nani Silod School
On 22 February 2024, as part of the CRC Village Development in Nadiad, a Hand Wash Activity was organized at Nani Chiloda School. This activity included steps for handwashing, emphasizing the importance of cleanliness, regular nail and hair care for children, and demonstrated practical exercises. Both Shaileshbhai and Prince Bhai participated in every task, including the hand wash activity. All teachers and staff members of the school were gathered together to introduce them to the organization. Children were provided with two glasses, water, and tea, and then two students were called to demonstrate handwashing. Afterward, all the teachers rotated to help children wash their hands and explained the importance of washing hands regularly. It was explained that hands should be washed before and after eating, after using the toilet, after playing, after coming back from the market, or helping with household chores. A student was then called to demonstrate the proper handwashing technique step by step, and the teachers explained the process to the students systematically. A similar event was organized in the primary school, where all teachers were introduced to the organization, and children were given the same materials for handwashing. The procedure was explained to them as well. The importance of handwashing was emphasized to all participants, including students and staff members, and they were educated on the importance of maintaining cleanliness in their daily lives. It was emphasized that it is our responsibility to keep our homes, schools, and villages clean, and this habit is very beneficial for our health and helps prevent diseases. The teachers were taught to follow the steps after washing their hands with plain water, and they were also shown a video on how to use the hand wash kit properly. It was explained how effective regular handwashing can be for our health and how it can keep us away from illnesses. After the Hand Wash Awareness Activity, Hand Wash kits were distributed to the members of the Child Cabinet, teachers, and school staff, along with awareness-raising activities carried out by the organization. This initiative continued to raise awareness and promote hygiene practices. With more than 50 attendees, this initiative was very successful. Overall, the Hand Wash Activity was enjoyed by both teachers and school staff, and it was a very enjoyable experience for the children as well.
