Hand Wash Activity at Davapura village


On the date of 26-3-2024, a Hand Wash Awareness Activity was conducted at Dava Pur Primary School. During this activity, all students from different sections were gathered together, and a brief introduction about the organization was given. The practical understanding of hand washing for children was demonstrated through a demo, for which two glasses, a water bottle, and soap were arranged. Two students were called upon to demonstrate the steps of hand washing, emphasizing the importance of washing hands before and after meals, after using the toilet, after playing, after coming from the market, or helping with household chores, and the necessity of frequent hand washing throughout the day was explained. One student was then called upon to demonstrate the proper technique of hand washing step by step, and the students were educated about the importance of hygiene. It was emphasized that nails should be trimmed regularly, hair should be washed regularly, and clean hair should be kept, and awareness about cleanliness should be maintained. It was explained that it is our responsibility to keep our homes and surroundings clean, and it was understood that if this habit is cultivated from an early age, it will be very useful in life. After explaining the steps of hand washing with plain water to the students, a demonstration of hand washing with a Hand Wash Kit was conducted, and a video was shown explaining how to wash hands properly and the excellent effect it has on our health, and how it helps us stay away from diseases. It was explained that if this habit is cultivated diligently, it will prove to be very useful in life. During the Hand Wash Activity, both students and school staff actively participated, and everyone enjoyed the activity. After the Hand Wash Awareness Activity, Hand Wash kits were distributed to the students, teachers, and school staff members by the organization to continue spreading awareness through such initiatives. It was stated that the activity was completed successfully. With the presence of more than 50 attendees, the awareness activity was very successful.

On the date of 21-03-2024, the Child Cabinet meeting was held at Nani Siloda Primary School. The meeting primarily focused on the functioning of the Children's Parliament. Introductions were made for the members of the Children's Parliament Cabinet, and discussions were held regarding their roles and responsibilities. The discussion included the duties of the Prime Minister and their role and responsibilities, as well as those of the Ministerial Cabinet, such as the Health Minister, and their tasks. Specifically, the responsibilities of the Cleanliness Minister regarding the cleanliness of the school, including inspection of the grounds and monitoring the cleanliness of the school's sections, were highlighted. Household Surveys in Nadiad and Mahmedabad Blocks

Team successfully conducted 824 household surveys in the Nadiad and Mahmedabad blocks. These surveys were crucial in gathering comprehensive data on the challenges faced by households in these areas. The results highlighted significant issues, such as a lack of access to potable water, proper sanitation facilities, and functional drainage systems for a majority of the households. Furthermore, the surveys revealed high dropout rates among students and alarmingly low literacy rates among women. These findings point to the urgent need for targeted interventions aimed at improving both living conditions and educational outcomes in these communities. In total, 824 households were directly impacted by this survey.
