Hand Wash Activity at Gadva village


On March 26, 2024, a Hand Wash Awareness Activity was conducted at Gadva Primary School. During this activity, all students from various sections were gathered together, and a brief introduction about the organization was provided. A practical demonstration of hand washing for children was conducted using two glasses, a water bottle, and soap, with two students called upon to demonstrate the steps. It was emphasized that hand washing is essential before and after various activities such as using the toilet, playing, coming from the market, or helping with household chores. The importance of regular hand washing throughout the day was explained, along with the proper technique. Additionally, the importance of trimming nails regularly, maintaining clean hair, and being aware of cleanliness was highlighted. It was explained that it is our responsibility to keep our homes and surroundings clean, and this responsibility was emphasized. After explaining the steps of hand washing with plain water, a demonstration of hand washing with a Hand Wash Kit was conducted, along with a video explaining the proper technique and the health benefits. It was emphasized that cultivating this habit diligently is crucial for good health and disease prevention. Both students and school staff actively participated in the Hand Wash Awareness Activity, and everyone enjoyed the activity. Hand Wash kits were distributed to the students, teachers, and school staff members after the activity to continue spreading awareness. It was stated that the activity was successfully completed. With the presence of more than 45 attendees, the awareness activity was highly successful.

On the date of 21-03-2024, the Child Cabinet meeting was held at Nani Siloda Primary School. The meeting primarily focused on the functioning of the Children's Parliament. Introductions were made for the members of the Children's Parliament Cabinet, and discussions were held regarding their roles and responsibilities. The discussion included the duties of the Prime Minister and their role and responsibilities, as well as those of the Ministerial Cabinet, such as the Health Minister, and their tasks. Specifically, the responsibilities of the Cleanliness Minister regarding the cleanliness of the school, including inspection of the grounds and monitoring the cleanliness of the school's sections, were highlighted. Household Surveys in Nadiad and Mahmedabad Blocks

Team successfully conducted 824 household surveys in the Nadiad and Mahmedabad blocks. These surveys were crucial in gathering comprehensive data on the challenges faced by households in these areas. The results highlighted significant issues, such as a lack of access to potable water, proper sanitation facilities, and functional drainage systems for a majority of the households. Furthermore, the surveys revealed high dropout rates among students and alarmingly low literacy rates among women. These findings point to the urgent need for targeted interventions aimed at improving both living conditions and educational outcomes in these communities. In total, 824 households were directly impacted by this survey.
