Health Camp at Degam Village


On Wednesday, March 20, 2024, a Medical Camp was organized for a Screening Workshop for anemia/hemoglobin test. The camp offered services including hemogram lab reports, eye check-ups, sugar tests, general check-ups, and counseling. The camp was conducted by the team from Shivam Hospital, primarily targeting the residents of Degam village. The camp provided hemoglobin tests, eye examinations, general check-ups, and other services. A total of 195 patients attended, including 55 brothers, 48 sisters, 40 girls, and 52 boys. Out of these, 39 were diagnosed with anemia, and hemogram reports were generated for 17 individuals. Each patient underwent eye check-ups, sugar tests, blood pressure checks, general check-ups, and were provided with prescribed medication. Counseling services were also provided to each patient.

On the date of 21-03-2024, the Child Cabinet meeting was held at Nani Siloda Primary School. The meeting primarily focused on the functioning of the Children's Parliament. Introductions were made for the members of the Children's Parliament Cabinet, and discussions were held regarding their roles and responsibilities. The discussion included the duties of the Prime Minister and their role and responsibilities, as well as those of the Ministerial Cabinet, such as the Health Minister, and their tasks. Specifically, the responsibilities of the Cleanliness Minister regarding the cleanliness of the school, including inspection of the grounds and monitoring the cleanliness of the school's sections, were highlighted. Household Surveys in Nadiad and Mahmedabad Blocks

Team successfully conducted 824 household surveys in the Nadiad and Mahmedabad blocks. These surveys were crucial in gathering comprehensive data on the challenges faced by households in these areas. The results highlighted significant issues, such as a lack of access to potable water, proper sanitation facilities, and functional drainage systems for a majority of the households. Furthermore, the surveys revealed high dropout rates among students and alarmingly low literacy rates among women. These findings point to the urgent need for targeted interventions aimed at improving both living conditions and educational outcomes in these communities. In total, 824 households were directly impacted by this survey.
