Relief Efforts for Kheda District Floods: Food Distribution and Community Support

From August 24 to September 5, 2024, comprehensive relief efforts were carried out in response to the severe flooding in Kheda district. The floods, caused by heavy rainfall and the overflow of the Shedhi River, affected 16 villages near the ITC Company, along with areas in Nadiad and Mahemdabad Blocks. Homes, roads, and shops were submerged, creating an urgent need for relief. In collaboration with ITC, Saath, and Vikasat organizations, a thorough assessment of the damage was conducted to develop a food distribution and support plan. This relief initiative, chaired by MLA Mr. SanjayBhai Maheda, provided essential assistance to over 5,300 beneficiaries, ensuring that the affected communities received the necessary aid.
