Relief Efforts for Kheda District Floods: Food Distribution and Community Support

From August 24 to September 5, 2024, comprehensive relief efforts were carried out in response to the severe flooding in Kheda district. The floods, caused by heavy rainfall and the overflow of the Shedhi River, affected 16 villages near the ITC Company, along with areas in Nadiad and Mahemdabad Blocks. Homes, roads, and shops were submerged, creating an urgent need for relief. In collaboration with ITC, Saath, and Vikasat organizations, a thorough assessment of the damage was conducted to develop a food distribution and support plan. This relief initiative, chaired by MLA Mr. SanjayBhai Maheda, provided essential assistance to over 5,300 beneficiaries, ensuring that the affected communities received the necessary aid.

Raksha Bandhan Celebrations Honoring Sanitation Workers and Midday Meal Staff

On August 16, 2024, Raksha Bandhan celebrations were held at Hathnoli and Varsola Primary Schools, along with other schools, as part of the ITC "Mission Sunehra Kal" initiative. The event aimed to promote respect and gratitude for sanitation workers and midday meal staff. Girl students from grades 5 to 8 participated by tying rakhis to the workers, acknowledging their essential contributions to the schools and villages. At each location, 10 students tied rakhis to 10 workers, symbolizing respect and appreciation for their efforts. The principals and Sarpanch Shri were present to support the celebrations, which fostered a strong sense of community and raised awareness among students and villagers about the importance of these vital roles.

Independence Day Celebration at Nani Silod Primary School

On August 15, 2024, Nani Silod Primary School celebrated Independence Day with great enthusiasm. The event commenced with the hoisting of the national flag, instilling a sense of patriotism among the attendees. Following this, various cultural activities were organized by the students, including a play titled "Swachhta Ka Mahatva," which highlighted the importance of cleanliness. Patriotic songs and dances filled the atmosphere, fostering a spirit of national pride. The students also delivered speeches emphasizing the significance of Independence Day and the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters. The event was attended by village leaders, Ward Members, SMDC staff, the Principal, and local villagers, with the Dy Sarpanch of Silod Village serving as the chairperson of the celebration.

Independence Day Quiz Competitions at Moti Silod and Mokampura Primary Schools

In celebration of Independence Day, quiz competitions were held on August 13, 2024, at Moti Silod and Mokampura Primary Schools. Organized by the Saath organization with support from the District Administration, these events aimed to promote knowledge of the independence struggle and rural development among students. Principals Ms. Ashaben and Ms. Sonalben led the competitions, featuring four teams per school. Each team answered questions related to India's independence, rural development, and general knowledge. At Moti Silod, 16 students participated in front of 135 villagers, while at Mokampura, 16 students competed with an audience of 188 students. Prizes were awarded for correct answers, and local leaders recognized the winning teams, making the event both educational and inspiring for the participants and the audience.
